I'm just starting out trying to run ".../boost/libs/config/configure" to generate an initial confg header. I'm sure that the problem has something to do with quoting/expansion/etc. I've tried variations on the theme, including exporting these environment variables instead of passing them on the command line, but I can't seem to find the right combination of quotes and escapes to get configure to do what I want it to do. Any help?
