I agree it is a tenuous system. On the other hand how much of a leap is it from using a network file system when building?
Ask a company layer, project manager, sysadmin that question to get an idea of the magnitude of the leap.
No one has answered my question of how to obtain 1.34.
Perhaps because it was easy enough to find the info with a bit of reading/searching <http://boost.org/more/release_procedures.htm>.
Thanks. I looked for the answer for about thirty minutes. After not coming up with the info that way I asked.
But at this point I'm confused about goals... If you are not discussing an existing Boost library,
The post did discuss a Boost library. Slater said he was interested in finding ways to improve the performance of B.Ser. I wrote my ideas about that. Beyond that I was replying to some of the points he had made in his previous post.
nor discussing a possible Boost library submission. What are you trying to achieve by asking questions in this group?
With the question about 1.34, I wanted to get some information. With the question about online code generation I want to understand what he is getting at and if there is a technical problem with the online approach that we haven't considered. For work on releases the release manager creates a branch on CVS of the form "RC_X_Y_Z".
