Re: [boost] Boost inspection notification (2006-08-09/RC_1_34_0) *X*

It's uneasy to find new Boost inspection notification at my client. I spend near 5 minutes just to find this notification. May be making special brunch for notifications not such a good idea? Regards, Alexander

Well, I'm the one who came up with the idea, so I'll not speak about that :-) Anyway, I guess that's mainly a client limitation. If you are under Windows I'd heartedly suggest Free Agent, which can manage these things in a lot of handy ways. -- [ Gennaro Prota, C++ developer for passion ]

Well, I see you point of view and I install news client that your suggested (thanks). But the idea was: How could every one of the numerous developers be aware about inspection notification existing if every new message is at distant folder? The recent notifications are equal to each other m.b. developers do not see them? Regards, Alexander

Not sure I understood the last sentence. To me, I simply select the "view" (view unread messages) each time I download new headers. Newsgroup experience has showed that there are rare cases in which a follow-up is posted *years* (not kidding) later the referred to message. And here, given the high posting volume, there are always messages which appear very distant: discussions begun on the first days of this month, for instance, are years away in my window :-) But since I'm the proponent of the idea I'll remain silent. Let's see what others think about it. -- [ Gennaro Prota, C++ developer. For hire ]
