I've just heard that Paul Bristow who helped so much with the development of Boost.Math and indeed many other libraries, passed away peacefully last week. RIP Paul. Much missed. John.

May his soul rest in peace. More than a few authors (myself included) received much Quickbook/Boostbook assistance from Paul. He will be missed. Glen

RIP Paul. Much missed. Paul helped me find my way to Boost (Math/Multiprecision)over a decade ago. He helped us and mysefl with manyfascinating and challenging topics. He was always good-natured, strong in the tech we pursue and happy to help. Yet he remained willing to learn and share. He was truly a friendly, pleasant and excellent collaborator. I will miss him. Chris

Well that sucks. He was about my age also with young children right? If so, that really sucks. I remember me and Paul diagnosing why my code ran like crap on his brand new AMD rig many many years ago. It took weeks to figure it out, but with much patience and laborious testing by him on his side of things we eventually figured it out. Not many are willing to do that I have found in my experience so far. Maybe a handful from all over the internet in the past twenty five years or so. Paul was a rare one. Niall

Sad news. My condolences to his close ones. Paul was one of the first Boost people I had the opportunity to interact with back in 2004, and he was always extremely kind and helpful. I particularly remember his interest and support during the development of a GSoC 2007 project I mentored (SVG_plot), which he eventually took the reponsibility of maintaining and extending. Too sad. A few years ago Paul helped me a lot with writing a book. It was nice to talk with him and discuss different things. He left a very good impression. RIP
