[getting started][1.36] Please rebuild and merge.
Please can somebody rebuild the getting started guide in trunk? Beman, is it be okay to merge this into the release branch? I've only updated the version numbers: http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/changeset/47870/ I've also added a note to the release procedure wiki pages so hopefully this won't be missed in the future. thanks, Daniel

I'd be happy to, but I would really would like to see http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/ticket/1744 resolved before I do that.
1744 isn't going to be resolved until someone steps in and does the work. And it is pretty unlikely that will happen in time for this release, since we are about to publish the beta. Hopefully this release is going to supply binary installers for popular platforms, and those installers will include options for static libraries. That may ease the urgency of 1744. --Beman

The problem isn't that there's work to be done; it's that nobody has made a clear decision about what work *should* be done. I can easily do whatever documentation work is needed, but it looks like we need a referee to choose Boost's course of action, and as release manager I think you are the guy to decide what, exactly, is going to be released.
