Despite using Boost for a little while I've only just noticed that many, (perhaps most or all) Boost files do not contain the Subversion release id. This seems less than ideal, but I can't imagine it is not a considered decision. So why is it this way? - Rob.

Personally I find revision ID's in source file a useless nuisance. I often need to compare Boost directory (sub-)trees and revison ID's make files appear to differ when they don't.
