Question about commercial software and boost license

Hi, I'm working in a company that want to use boost libraries to a commercial software. I have a pair of questions: 1. Is it possible to distribute under the boost license a commercial software (so the source code won't be exposed) programmed with static boost libraries? 2. And with linked libraries to an executable? Thanks in advance! MARC

No. The Boost licence is an open source licence, but it isn't viral like the GPL....You don't *have* to change your licence if you statically link to Boost. You just have to comply with the licence yourself. -- Regards, Peter Geoghegan

Hello Marc, nice to hear that you are interested to use boost libraries. Please read the license itself and the provided FAQ first. If you have got any more questions feel free to ask again. As far as I understand it is not necessary to distribute your software with an boost license itself. You could use boost library as is!
