Boost-bugs mailing list is open

We have created a Boost-bugs mailing list, which will receive updates each time a ticket in Boost's Trac system is created, modified, or closed. To subscribe to the Boost-bugs mailing list, please go to: http://lists.boost.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/boost-bugs - Doug

Would it be possible to decentralize that a bit ? (Requiring me to see all bug-related traffic just because I'm interested into a single component or two seems wasteful.) I'm thinking of something like generating the mail subject line by prefixing with the [component-name], and sending to the devel list directly (or any component-specific list, if it exists). Wouldn't that make sense ? Thanks, Stefan -- ...ich hab' noch einen Koffer in Berlin...

You can always have it sent to you in digest form and I expect it is going to be archived somewhere, so you could just go there and search for the one item of interest. Having it on Gmane could be another useful alternative.

Prefixing, yes. Adding extra traffic on the developers' list, no. Cheers, Nicola Musatti

There already are interfaces to look for bugs and related traffic. The whole point is to get messages delivered into my local mailbox. :-) (And my argument was about filtering out things I'm not interested in. I'm already subscribed to way too many lists, as it stands, so I need a way to cut out uninteresting mail, not to get them all in a single blob.) Will posting to the discussion list still be the preferred way to report a bug, or after this change will the preferred way to report a bug be through the tracker? I have been following the advice on http://www.boost.org/more/bugs.htm and I have been reporting bugs (only one so far) on the discussion list. Probably not what you want, but you can create a custom query at: http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/query and then subscribe to the RSS feed. Daniel

Good idea. Do you plan to have it relayed on Gmane? Cheers, Nicola Musatti
