Are you still having this problem? I ultimately gave up and just submitted the (small) patch as an inline comment. That required two comments (I forgot about wiki formatting mangling for the first), and I had to submit the second comment twice as the first attempt hit the same error. I don't have any more patches to submit at the moment...
