That's using their default Avg. Salary of $55,000/year. That's a joke, at least here in US. Boost contributers are often highly experienced world-class developers who would bring a great deal more than that on the open market. Furthermore, overhead costs usually add something close to 100% to cover benefits, office space, managers, etc. I'd use a figure of at least $200,000/yr. That would bring the value to $68,000,000:-) --Beman

But surely that should be multiplied by at least 2 * pi to take account of the *quality* - it's not done by your average coders. However I would also note that the site says "declining development activity". They obviously haven't looked at the review queue! Assuming only 3.6 k lines of code per person year. Seems quite low, for most code (even with reviews). I wonder where they got that, and how they define a "line of code". Matt
