informal boost summer of code IRC channel invitation

Hello, We have created an informal boost-soc channel on irc.oftc.net. As we're entering the final month of the summer of code program, this might be a good place this years participants, last year's participants, mentors, and those interested in the project, to hang out, answer quick questions, provide moral support and negotiate stress-relieving (hopefully) online chess matches. The channel name is boost-soc. Everyone is invited! Stjepan

Many boosters already frequent #boost on irc.freenode.net - would not that be a more appropriate server put a soc channel?

Was there anything wrong with the #boost channel on freenode? It's not like we have so much IRC traffic that having two boost-related channels is reasonable.

The last part sounds interesting. - Volodya

I have read that oftc is in better shape at the moment.

We are organizing a big tournament for next week. You are welcome to join us :) Lally? Julio? Matt? Giovanni? All my SoCers colleagues? Do you want to join us... we can help this year SoCers... Best regards Matias

"read"? "shape"? What do you mean, exactly. As far as sending messages, freenode appears to work just fine. - Volodya

Debian wants to leave freenode... And I have asked my friends and they recommend me oftc. I think freenode works fine too. Best Regards Matias

I don't know what Debian's complaint is, but I drop in on several freenode chats regularly and never see a problem. -- Dave Abrahams Boost Consulting http://www.boost-consulting.com The Astoria Seminar ==> http://www.astoriaseminar.com
