GSoC 2013 Boost mentors discussions
Hi, I would like to share privately some comments with the GSoC 2013 Boost mentors. How can we do it? How to know who is a mentor? Do we have a know e-mail for all of them? Best, Vicente

As far as I understand all messages are distributed by melange to the appropriate people. Private messages are shared among (subscribed) mentors, while public messages also include the student. The same goes for visibility on the melange web interface. Stefan -- ...ich hab' noch einen Koffer in Berlin...

I think Vincente means a general message, not related to a specific project. I think Boris might have an overview of everyone registered as a mentor in google melange?

Yes, I see all email addresses. If no one objects, I'll send an email around including everyone's email address in the To: line. There is unfortunately no mentors mailing list in Melange (someone sent already a request to Google asking for such a feature). Boris

Yes. Please do try to coordinate us. There are some things I don't understand about the process. Maybe together we could figure them out. For example, I have at least two outstanding proposals for one project and I don't know how to properly deal with this situation. Sincerely, Chris.

+1 There are definitely things we should talk about together, to make sure we are on the same page. Perhaps we could even arrange a g+ hangout at some point, as a quick conference call could allow us to avoid a lengthy discussion via mail. I also seem to remember that we used to have a boost-gsoc mailing list in past years, just for mentors. I'm not sure that's necessary, though. Once we have done some initial coordination, the rest of the process should run pretty smoothly. Thanks, Stefan -- ...ich hab' noch einen Koffer in Berlin...
I'd like to point out that there's actually a Google Groups set up for
Boost GSoC mentors, and I happen to be an owner of it :) Some of you are
already members.
I'll add Boris as an admin and he can help you get added or not.

There are yet too many mentors that are not members. I suggest to use this proposal http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/google/gsoc2013/trademark... to discuss between mentors. Do you agree? We will move to once all the mentors are members. Best, Vicente

Wouldn't it be better to create a fake proposal and comment there?
