Boost -> Jolt Award Nominee?

Hei, I've just came across the on DDJ for nominations for the 2007 Jolt Award. Personally, I think that Boost is one of the biggest productivity boosts there is for C++ programmers, having had a large part in the definition of the next C++ standard, yadda, yadda. It is a shame that it has never in it's almost-10-year existence featured there. However, much to my dismay, one can't simply nominate one's favorite tool, the tool manufacturer has to do it. So, is there any interest from The Boosters to do this, despite the entry fee? Hi Marc, I assume you mean: https://www.joltnominations.com/Jolt/ It seems that for open source it's 40$ per category: http://www.joltawards.com/categories.html And we'd add boost to category 9. I can come up with the money ;) Best, John

Well, so can I. That's not the problem. The problem is that some representative from Boost would be needed as liaison (providing the packages, and probably support, to the judges). But apparently, there's not much interest in this. C++'s lack of a marketing organization strikes once again :) Thanks, Marc

If you're willing to do the job (prepare the submission material, stand as the contact person etc.) I don't see why you can't count as that representative. Is there any requisite that the representative has to have any legal binding with the open source project? (If so, I guess the only valid representative would be Beman) You might want to ask the contact for the Jolt awards about this particular point.
