I don't think that the risk is worth the reward in this case, but since you have successfully appointed yourself maintainer of CW/* and */PPC, I leave the final decision to you. ;-)

I'm not so sure either which is why I'm asking :-) Since I can only test this on a uni-processor x86 with cw-83 I just don't know if there are significant gains in other configurations.

OK.. I think I'll commit it but in a commented out form (as you did with the others early on). I have a dual G4 at home, so I could probably run an executable you send me there when I get back on Tuesday.
