I do not understand what the difference is between software added to the Boost vault or software added to the Boost sandbox, Would someone please elucidate this for me. I know the sandbox resides under SVN, because I can use Tortoise SVN to update my local copy of it. Where does the Boost vault reside ?

Yes, I see that. I still do not understand the difference in purpose between code in the Boost vault and code in the Boost sandbox.

The sandbox provides a version control system for code in development for Boost. Of course not everyone wants/needs to use a version control system. The Vault provides a place where you can download pre-packaged zip's of submissions for Boost - typically, but not always - snapshots of stable versions of code in the sandbox. John.
