In effect, it has already started on the trunk. Any developer wishing to get stuff ready for 1.37 (or 1.36.1 if there are no new libraries ready) should already be committing their next release material to trunk, clearing test failures, soliciting any needed feedback from the list, etc.

IMO it is time to start with it (1/08/2008), but without a named branch by release this is impossible. Could you share with us which is the plan to avoid that the quarterly release become a wish?
