[1.46.0] Release candidates available

Release candidate files for the 1.46.0 are available at http://boost.cowic.de/rc/ As always, the release managers would appreciate it if you download the candidate of your choice and give building it a try. Please report both success and failure. This helps ensure the candidates build OK before we push them out to SourceForge. Thanks, --The release managers

Build looks good for VC++ 10.0 express on Windows. --Beman

It's better than before, but the tools directory still does not build cleanly (under MSVC10). See <http://pastebin.com/nqkVngzQ> for errors. Regards, KTC

Looks like library_status.cpp has not been updated for filesystem V3. Also, there are changes to trunk's collect_and_upload_logs.py, process_jam_log.cpp, regression.py, and run_tests.sh that have not been merged to trunk. These are a bit unfortunate, but are they showstoppers? My vote is no, they aren't. --Beman

I reported this problem on January 30th to the boost-devel list, right after the beta came out, but nobody cared.

My vote is also no.. And why they never got merged is that the regression testing uses the trunk versions always. -- -- Grafik - Don't Assume Anything -- Redshift Software, Inc. - http://redshift-software.com -- rrivera/acm.org (msn) - grafik/redshift-software.com -- 102708583/icq - grafikrobot/aim,yahoo,skype,efnet,gmail

On Debian with GCC 4.5.2 x86_64-linux, build of several targets fails with the following message: ./boost/python/detail/wrap_python.hpp:75:24: fatal error: patchlevel.h: No such file or directory The full output of ./bjam --without-mpi is attached BR Matus

On Debian with GCC 4.5.2 x86_64-linux, build of several targets fails with the following message:
./boost/python/detail/wrap_python.hpp:75:24: fatal error: patchlevel.h: No such file or directory
That means bjam can't find Python (is it installed?) I suggest examining the output of bjam with --debug-configuration and also the site-/user-config.jam files. -- Dave Abrahams BoostPro Computing http://www.boostpro.com

Yep, Python is installed in /opt/..., updating site-config.jam with using python helped to solve the issue. The .tar.bz2 also bootstraps and builds on Vista with Cygwin + GCC 4.5.1 and the .zip bootstraps and builds with MSVC 9.0 on Vista, without problems. Matus

Did you follow my suggestion? What are the results? The problem is that the #include path doesn't end up containing Python's include/ directory. -- Dave Abrahams BoostPro Computing http://www.boostpro.com

OS: Windows XP 64bit Compiler: MSVC-8 (Visual Studio 2005). Std-Lib: Native Command line: bjam release stage 'Failed updating 2 targets'. Attached bjam output from the second run (which should only try to build the libraries that failed, right?). I've got the log from the first run as well. - Christian
