Active Tickets report and accepted info

Hi, in https://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/report/1 I see the following: "If a ticket has been accepted, a '*' is appended after the owner's name" Is there an error on the report or the maintainers do not use to accept the tickets? I find this information very useful, if it states that the maintainer accept to take care of this ticket. Best, _____________________ Vicente Juan Botet Escribá http://viboes.blogspot.com/

I think the feature is at best underused. -- Dave Abrahams BoostPro Computing http://www.boostpro.com

I find it more like it's not really that useful a feature, accepting tickets that is, for Boost as there is small to no overlap in working in bugs. It's more useful for components that have multiple people working on them as a way to coordinate who works on tickets. For example I've used it to tell Volodya that I'm working on some tickets for Boost Build/bjam. But it doesn't really make much sense, as a single author, to tell yourself you are working on a ticket. -- -- Grafik - Don't Assume Anything -- Redshift Software, Inc. - http://redshift-software.com -- rrivera/acm.org (msn) - grafik/redshift-software.com -- 102708583/icq - grafikrobot/aim,yahoo,skype,efnet,gmail

Hm.. But I thought a bug was not valid.. Wouldn't I just close it as invalid? Hence I was under the impression that accepting a ticket was more than just saying you looked at it without "deleting" it. -- -- Grafik - Don't Assume Anything -- Redshift Software, Inc. - http://redshift-software.com -- rrivera/acm.org (msn) - grafik/redshift-software.com -- 102708583/icq - grafikrobot/aim,yahoo,skype,efnet,gmail

How does the casual observer know that you have looked at a Trac issue and considered keeping it versus not yet seen it? _____ Rob Stewart robert.stewart@sig.com Software Engineer, Core Software using std::disclaimer; Susquehanna International Group, LLP http://www.sig.com IMPORTANT: The information contained in this email and/or its attachments is confidential. That's nice.. Except I started with my use of trac before that page existed ;-) For justification about how I use the "accept" I point to the state to which a ticket moves to when "accepted" ==> "assigned". But I can look at a ticket and determine it's valid without determining whom it should be "assigned" to, Volodya or myself, as it could be either one of us can fix it at some future point. Perhaps "accepting" a ticket should move it to "acknowledged" instead of "assigned". -- -- Grafik - Don't Assume Anything -- Redshift Software, Inc. - http://redshift-software.com -- rrivera/acm.org (msn) - grafik/redshift-software.com -- 102708583/icq - grafikrobot/aim,yahoo,skype,efnet,gmail
