IOStreams Review -- Last Day

Hi all, This is the last day of the iostream library review. There have been a lot of messages to read; I've tried to respond to all of them, but I may have missed some. If you feel you have raised an issue which I have not adequtely addressed, please try again. Also, if you have been considering posting a review, but have run out of time, please post whatever comments you have even if they are not as detailed as you may have liked. Best Regards, Jonathan

Review of IOStreams library: What is your evaluation of the design? The design is sound and offers tremendous potential. What is your evaluation of the implementation? Very good over all. The samples need to be expanded to include Unicode samples. What is your evaluation of the documentation? The documentation is adequate. What is your evaluation of the potential usefulness of the library? Extremely useful. I plan on using it as soon as it becomes available. Did you try to use the library? With what compiler? Did you have any problems? Have worked on/with some parts previously. Yes. VS2003. No. No. How much effort did you put into your evaluation? The samples were compiled and tested. Compression samples were written from scratch. A few minor bugs were noted. Are you knowledgeable about the problem domain? Yes. Do you think the library should be accepted as a Boost library? Yes definitely as soon as possible. Regards, George M. Garner Jr.
