All my compilers (gcc3, gcc4, msvc7.1, msvc8 and intel) are not showing up any problems with this at the moment. If you can find a patch for your compiler, or an example that fails with any of the above tools so I can look at the problem, that would be great. Sorry not to be more help at the moment.
