Have I got this right?
I hope not. If a library uses an obsolete library in its API, then it should consider providing an alternative API using newer alternatives alongside the old API. If a library uses an obsolete library as an implementation detail, then it's not harming anybody. The library can switch to a more modern implementation when and if this is convenient. -- Rainer Deyke - rainerd@eldwood.com
