[boost] Question about asio socket time

hello, i'm trying to implement a synchronous httprequest - almost everything is fine - but when a host is not reachable the timeout takes pritty long. is there any change to set the timeout manually or do i have to switch to an asynchrounus implementation with a deadline timer? regards sebastian deutsch
