That is true, at the moment, that the 5.8.x isn't much better in terms of compliance (but does have quite a few bug fixes from code-gen point of view etc). Now that C++Builder has active support again (as opposed to the rumoured support that there was with BCB6), Borland will start to update the compiler in terms of compliance with the next release (which I think is due out later this year). They do now use Dinkum for the STL rather than an old version of STLPort so hopefully that will help with some of the workarounds. Cheers Russell
