Can we please tone down the rhetoric here? I could say, "I do not think that shoving a set of classes to convert between encoding standards down everybody's throats is the best solution..." but I don't think it would help anyone understand the issues better. Is there any harm in exploring the alternatives here in a calm and rational way?
