I totally support what Mike just wrote. I would just choose the latest available CMake version (3.20) as the starting point and see how it goes from there. Just to be clear, I said I'd pick a relatively high version (e.g. 3.13 or 3.15). I did not recommend to pick the latest version (3.20 / 3.21?).

That is true. That is my personal recommendation. And it is due to the fact that I do not see a good reason for Boost needing to support old versions for a new and optional feature. I dot not know exactly, what bugs were fixed and what new features were introduced in CMake between 3.13 and 3.20. I know of some, because that were problems for the project I was working on until I was able to fix these in CMake. So for me personally, CMake 3.20 is a minimum requirement.
