There is one change to "optional_test.cpp" (that is, the test, not the library) that affects ONLY bcc5.6.4 which currently shows as broken. This change is to fix the test which is wrong w.r.t the current optional code for this compiler.
This change will not affect any other compiler (because it consist of removing the bcc5.6.4 specific code) and will fix the test for that compiler.
If it is OK to apply this change to 1.31.0 I'll proceed; otherwise, I'll left the fix only in the main trunk.
OK, you can make it to 1.31.0, since we have to complete one more regression cycle anyhow. But only if (1) you can do it right away and (2) you watch the Win32 tests which I will update as soon as I see your change applied and (3) you back it out instantly if it causes trouble. --Beman
