my original intent was to send it to comp.lang.c++.moderated (comp.std.c++ doesn't spring into my mind) but then I realized that it is not the right place. Now I think that comp.std.c++ is the right one. I've sent it to Pete Becker for obvious reasons and to boost list because it has an important influence to my string_cvt proposal for SoC posted here earlier. Best, Oleg Abrosimov.
