I could need a named pipe for Boost.Process (which isn't an official Boost C++ library but everyone calls it like this). There is a create_pipe() function for anonymous pipes (see <http://www.highscore.de/boost/process0.5/boost/process/create_pipe_id341354.html>). For asynchronous I/O on Windows a named pipe is required though. The example at <http://www.highscore.de/boost/process0.5/boost_process/tutorial.html#boost_process.tutorial.asynchronous_i_o> uses a create_async_pipe() function which however isn't provided by the library. So a function to create a named pipe would be definitely useful. Boris
