b) an auto linking issue which shows up as a warning when linking with msvc, and failure to build the library with MINGW.

c) The sun compiler in the test matrix fails to build because an usage of locale inhibits the stream build. I don't know if this is an issue the the standard library implemention being used or what. I'm guessing it would be too hard to fix for someone who has that compiler and an interest in addressing it.
