I agree. I think it's better to let it mature first. I am not testing on VC7.1 anymore, but there were some discussions a while back that this has been addressed. At any rate, I don't think it (the port) is ready for prime time yet.
+1. My suggestion would be (if it's even possible) to move the spirit 2.x port to a branch other than trunk, and then just merge that back into trunk when the parser has been "proven" after 1.45. My thinking is that 1.45 should go out with the urgent fixes to the issues its facing with 1.44 WRT serialization, then schedule the spirit port for a subsequent release.
