Correct. See: http://opensource.adobe.com/gil/contribute.html In short, if you want to write a GIL extension please choose a hosting site for it (SourceForge, Google code). You are responsible for updating your extension to the latest version of GIL, documenting it, extending it, maintaining it, etc. If you want to add it to Boost, you will have to go through the standard Boost review process. We will be happy to put pointers to all GIL extensions off GIL's web site so that there is a single place to go if you want to find a GIL extension.
But gil as itself will come without any extension. Also, the gil review was only for the core lib and not for the io extension.
The review covered the core and the two extensions that are distributed with it - I/O and dynamic_image. It did not cover the numeric extension. Lubomir
