A future review process should make it possible to postpone or reschedule a review.
I wonder whether it would be worthwhile to have a formalized "review readiness" process, if just something simple like a weekend that asks people, "Do you think a review of this should go ahead? (Based on when it's held, the previous discussion, the extent of documentation and examples, etc.)" that takes a critical mass before it gets added to the formal review queue. Alternatively, it could be part of the normal process, where the review manager would be to make a call on whether to postpone the review after the first few days.
