Given the relatively small number of library maintainers, wouldn't it be easy to just send all of them an email from time to time? It might only need consist of a link to the anouncements page.
Even better: why not a "library maintainers" mailing list?
This would have the same problem as the current setup. That is, one has to check the list. My idea is that I get a notice regardless of whether I"ve been checking the list or not. Robert Ramey
