There seems to be something wrong with the file indeed I tested it with gdalinfo utility from GDAL library (http://www.gdal.org) which opens number of JPEG variations, and tries to cope with some error conditions and here is what I got: G:\dev\boost\_svn\trunk\libs\gil\example>gdalinfo test.jpg Read 135 of 4096 requested bytes.
