i did read that page and i put keywords in square brackets in the subject when posting just like it's been custom for many years now. however, browsing the archive, it seems many posters do not do that. while that might be unfortunate, it does not really matter, at least for the mailing list archive online search tools i've found so far: they all seem to ignore square brackets anyway. maybe they are useful in a desktop mail/news client...
