Prior to boost, I didn't even place Spirit in boost's namespace to avoid confusion.
Using the boost namespace prior to acceptance may help to detect naming conflicts early in some cases.
At the time, when mentioning boost, I say that Spirit is a "boost candidate".

Prior to boost, Spirit was called just Spirit.
Not everyone can think of suich cool names, though ;-)
Now, it's called Boost.Spirit. The pre-catenation gave it special meaning. :-)
