I have high hopes for the unicode work.
Concerning Unicode, I did the foolish choice this year of working full-time as the same time as I finish my studies, which hasn't left me as much free time as I would have liked it to. I will be resuming work on it this summer, however, as I am quite keen on getting it into Boost.
If I remember correctly, one of our concern last summer (when looking at various GSoC submissions) was that the proposals should be structured in a way to increase the likelihood of the result to be self-contained and complete, to make it easy to integrate into boost. In that respect I would really prefer to see a formal submission for a boost.unicode library as a result of this rather sooner than later, and happily trade features against time of delivery. There have been many attempts to get proper Unicode support into boost, most of which stalled at some point or other when the author got busy with other things. Let's not do this error again.
