Yes ,that would be the object of this excercise.
Note that I did things the way I did as I though the issues related to serialization of shared_ptr were very unique. I would be curious to know if anyone else had problems with this.
OK, now your proposal solves my particular problem, thank you for that. I'll try to present evidence that the helper API is useful enough to be promoted to the Archive concept.
