Try using the native win32 subversion binaries instead. I've seen similar problems with the Cygwin version on Windows XP, as has a colleague of mine, especially when we were using svn from inside cygwin bash scripts or 'find' operations. The problems disappeared when we switched to using the native binaries.
Ah, thanks for the tip. I'll try that.
