It only seems absurb because you've ordered things in a particular way. It's important, I think, to separate making boost modular from choosing the VCS. If boost transitions to a new VCS before modularizing, then of course every library will have to transition. It's one big repository. There's nothing particularly absurd about this. If bost modularizes first then I see no reason why each library/subproject can't transition to a new VCS on its own time. Sure, it will be a bit more tedious to work with more than one VCS during the transition time but it certainly is doable. -Dave
