I've never used Ubuntu, but am I right in assuming that the version you're using has a very recent Linux kernel? It seems likely that something has changed in the Linux system header files that is breaking the build. Specifically, the FIONREAD and FIONBIO macros no longer expand to simple integer constants. I'll investigate and determine the correct fix.
