The current source code base of boost::serialization does not build as shared library/DLL. A number of changes to the source are necessary to get proper shared library builds (especially regarding the type registration mechanism). I've been working with Robert to make these changes, but currently they have not yet been added to CVS, but I believe Robert is working on it.
