OTOH, if your interests are computational geometry and open source projects, you should definitely check out CGAL (if you haven't done so already) I had not until Herve mentioned it in another email to me... It doesn't look like they've participated in Summer of Code before, which is my immediate goal, but I will definitely keep my eye on them if I enjoy the experience! (Yes, this is my first attempt at open source.)
