I agree with you that a library supporting DirectX in C++ would be
very useful, but I also agree that such a library wouldn't be appropriate for boost, as it wouldn't be portable at all.
I don't see that as a good reason for not having it in boost.
What library? I haven't seen *any* proposal for a DirectX library. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all I've seen so far was a proposal to have a boost::directx namespace now as a dumping ground should somebody in the world possibly choose to write a C++ DirectX related library that they would wish to submit to Boost sometime in the future.
