Are the third party libraries portable? There's really no reason other than lack of motivation that basic 3d functionality cannot be implemented on top of both opengl and directx, or directx and ogre3d.
I suspect even if the boost library only supported opengl it would face less resistance, since opengl is portable (and not just in the windows and WINE sense).
A second improvement would be not calling the wrapped / "helped" library by name but by function, as in "Boost.3DGraphics" instead of "Boost.DirectX" or "Boost.OpenGL". Kind regards, Peter Bindels
