Usage of BoostBook/DocBook isn't required by Boost. Library writers are free to use any system they want to produce HTML documentation.

Maybe the question you might want to ask is ... Should QuickBook be altered to produce html directly?

Just so you know... some of us have a good deal of docbook XML markup directly within our quickbook docs. Of course quickbook could be made to do both, and that has been talked about, but other than possibly faster builds, I'm not sure how much it gains you? John.
