Thanks Beman. This is very useful for the people that are not yet implied on the conversion to Git. Please could you mark the pages that up to date, so that we can not be misguided information that is tot up to date?
The only way I know much of the information is out-of-date is to test. And that takes a lot of time. Once I think the docs are in pretty good shape, I'll post a notice and ask other people to report things that aren't working as documented.
