Are these expected failures?

No. I have nearly finished a number of fixes to the read-write mutex, including some problems not uncovered by the unit tests. I also have an improved set of read/write mutex unit tests. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to complete them altogether and commit them yet. I'll see what I can do. Mike
