See? Crazy! In all seriousness though, it seems that they do similar things but my bet is that one is considered more enterprisey. Just did a quick Google, and lookie here: http://www.daimi.au.dk/~pmn/scf00/pro3/images/corba-mpi.gif Enterprisyness is sometimes the difference between MPI and other distributed computing environments.
