That's the problem. No one seems to make an effort to read what I propose. My solution assumes that no testing is done during release, none whatsoever. Only components that already tested and individually released by developers will go into umbrella boost release.
That's what I'm proposing, too:-) And, yes, in theory it shouldn't be necessary to explicitly test the release branch. In practice, stuff happens, so we will still need to test it. The debug vs. release test issue is probably worth looking at again once we get going. --Beman
